Perhaps your personal relationship have become a little stifled and you need time out Or perhaps it's the thought of a rural lifestyle in a tranquil setting, far from away from the noise and traffic, that's so appealing. A mixture of altruistic and personal reasons motivate people to give up their family and security of their lives at home to volunteer in some of the toughest regions in the world Be it in the remote village somewhere in Africa with no light or in the jungles of the Amazon forest, volunteering can change your life.

In developing countries you will be immensely uncomfortable with the level of poverty. At times you may question the value of the work you are doing or the role multilateral organizations play in the future of developing countries. On the upside, lots of people find volunteering satisfying because it enables them to put their skills to more meaningful use than they might be able to at home. There is also the excitement of exploring a new culture, the prospect of personal growth and the chance to make new friends.

Who Are We

Volunteer Corps Organization is a non governmental non profit making organization based in Accra-Ghana.Founded in 2005,has a membership of about 50 people. Members are mostly skilled workers and graduates who are committed to the goals and aspirations of building a better world by working as a team and achieving results. Membership is open to all who wish to serve and are willing to help make the world a better place for all.

We assume the role to serve humanity and we believe that all humans have the right to good education, food, health, medical care, good clothing etc. It was in this respect that the organization was born. For the past years, we have volunteers from Europe, America and Scandinavia volunteering with us. Our programs are well structured to suit everyone who wants to enjoy home-stay in Ghana and also volunteer for development projects.The major source of financing is from yearly dues by members and also foreign volunteers. In this respect, the organization also engages in farming in order the generate income to execute all it projects.

Because of the precarious financial status of the organization, we seek raw materials from companies like cement, steel plumbing materials and others to help carry out our yearly program.The Organization has undertaken several projects across the country especially in the rural areas where the need to uplift the living standard of the people is of great necessity and also carried out other projects in the urban areas.
